If you'd asked me what my 2021 new year's resolution was a week ago I would have answered, quite truthfully, lip fillers. 'new year, new you.' that's how the line goes right? The clock strikes midnight, we sing auld lang syne and immediately map out our own personal revamp. Last year I took on veganuary, the year before I swapped coffee for hot water and lemon, you get the gist. So why, this year, having undergone a grand total of zero cosmetic treatments or even minor tweakments in my lifetime, did I put lip fillers on the agenda? The answer is simple. A filter made me do it. I swiped through the instagram stories of a reality star (who shall remain nameless) and thought wow, she looks beautiful. Everything about her videos looked natural. Her skin didn't look overly blurred, there were no tell-tale fake freckles or gimmicky sparkles, her face looked fresh and enviably flawless and her lips a darned sight plumper than mine. I sat on the sofa fresh from a badly lit zoom call and resolved that 2021 would be the year I tried lip fillers. That resolution is just one - undeniably basic - example of why we need to make 2021 the year that we all get real about beauty.
2020's series of lockdowns caused our scrolling time to rocket. We engaged with instagram content like never before, what else was there to do?! Lastly, I hope that movements like #filterdrop will encourage others to realise that they don’t need filters, that they don't need to digitally alter the way they look. We are all so much more than our image and I really hope that message is more widely communicated throughout our society in 2021.'

Malaysia has jumped into the digital banking fray following the recent issuance of a policy document on the licensing framework for digital banks by the country’s central bank. The timing coincides nicely with singapore having just approved four digital bank licenses to surprisingly non-banking players.
Malaysia’s central bank made the call following a six-month public consultation. The move will most certainly set the scene for one of the biggest disruptions to the financial services market in decades. It comes close on the heels of other countries in the asia pacific region including hong kong and taiwan, and closer to home, singapore .
The licensing framework
Digital or virtual banks are an opportunity for disruption across the financial service sector — impacting both challengers (entrants) and incumbent (traditional) banks. Besides promoting innovation, the central bank’s vision is for digital banks to enhance financial inclusion for the underserved and help grow small and medium-sized enterprises (smes) in malaysia.
The regulators on december 31, 2020, stated that the licensing framework for digital-only banks will support the application of the latest technologies that could enhance the financial well-being of the country while also promoting sustainable growth. It includes expanding access to and encouraging responsible usage of, the relevant financial products and services to the financially unserved and underserved population segments.

HOW VACCINE STUDIES WORK
New drugs, vaccines or treatments usually go through rigorous tests and evaluations before reaching regulators for approval.
For vaccines, researchers compare what happens when a large group of volunteers gets the shots, versus what happens to another large group that doesn't. They compare side effects in each group. And they measure the vaccine's effectiveness by looking at how many in each group pick up infections.
To do this fairly, researchers randomly assign participants to receive a vaccine or a dummy shot, usually a dose of salt water.
Volunteers know there's a 50-50 chance they could be put in either group—and they are not told which group they landed in. Often, the researchers or others involved in the testing are also "blinded" and don't know either.
SHOULD TEST VOLUNTEERS BE TOLD?
About 17,000 of moderna's study participants received a placebo, as did about 22,000 people in pfizer's trial.
With the ongoing coronavirus crisis, health experts worry about leaving them in the dark and unprotected. They argue they should be given a vaccine now in recognition of their willingness to be a part of the trials during the pandemic.
"volunteers have been instrumental," said moncef slaoui, chief scientist of the government's operation warp speed program. "they should be rewarded for it."
The companies would have to "unblind" or "unmask" the studies, revealing whether participants got the vaccine or the dummy shot.
Unmasking is usually done at the end of testing. Moderna and pfizer, though, designed their studies to last two years to do long-term follow-up.
"I don't think there's anybody who thinks it's reasonable or feasible to keep the people blinded for two years," said susan ellenberg, an expert in clinical trials at the university of pennsylvania.
"given we have a pandemic, people are ready to settle for the short-term results."
PROS AND CONS OF "UNMASKING"
With the rollout of vaccines and the uncertainty of their status, volunteers could decide to drop out once they are eligible to get one. They might stay in the study if they're told what they got, said dr. Ana iltis, a bioethicist at wake forest university.
"participants could leave in droves. They could say, 'if you don't tell me what I got, I'm out of here,'" said iltis. "you cannot force people to stay."
In an ideal world, participants could hold off to discover whether they received the dummy shot or the vaccine. But experts agree the current circumstances are extraordinary.
Still, unmasking participants would undoubtedly affect the trials' scope and results.
If someone learns they've already been vaccinated, for example, they may stop social distancing or wearing masks—increasing their potential exposure to the virus and possibly spreading it. It's not yet known if vaccinated people can still carry and transmit the virus.
On the flip side, if a person finds out they only received the dummy shot, they might take precautions they wouldn't otherwise.
Either outcome, goodman said, "means the trial has basically come to an end."
Before granting its emergency use approval, the FDA required pfizer and moderna to provide two months of follow-up data. If studies are cut short, it becomes harder to get long-term effects, including how long immunity lasts.
"there's a reason we do clinical research in a certain way," iltis said. "we should not abandon our norms and our principles. Are we going to be happy with short-term evidence in a year?"
Pfizer plans to eventually vaccinate all its study participants. It's opting for a more gradual, voluntary process. The company will offer that option to those who got dummy shots as soon as they would have access to the vaccine outside of the study.
Moderna is considering immediately offering the vaccine to all who got dummy shots. More than one-quarter of them are health care workers and first in line for the vaccine anyway, the company noted.
"many have already left. Sadly, it's not a small number," said dr. Lindsey baden, who's involved in testing moderna's vaccine at brigham and women's hospital in boston. "this is not theoretical. It's happening."
British pharmaceutical company astrazeneca, which has enrolled at least 23,000 so far in its ongoing U.S. Study, recently decided to offer individual participants the opportunity to be unmasked as they become eligible for the approved vaccines.
"you never really want to unblind," said dr. William hartman, a researcher for astrazeneca's trial at the university of wisconsin-madison.
However, he added, the pandemic has complicated things.
"A lot of people are nervous and scared," hartman said. "and everyone comes into the trial hoping they'll get the vaccine."

While football manager 2021 may offer the most immersive, in-depth simulation of football on the market, it can’t possibly cover every single facet of the sport, especially when it comes to licensing for different competitions and clubs. To fix this, you will need to download some football manager 2021 badge packs.
Licenses are very expensive in football and while FM is very popular, it doesn’t have quite the same financial power as something like FIFA 21. Instead, players can download badge packs from third-party websites to override the game’s rather naff defaults badges and crests and instead. It’s straightforward and something the community has grown accustomed to over recent years and it’s something that you can do too.
Here’s how to add real badges and logos in football manager 2021, whether that’s for competitions, leagues, or clubs.

There’s no shortage of places to find badge packs for football manager 2021 and we have a few places to recommend. These third-party websites aren’t affiliated with sports interactive, but they’ve shown themselves to be very dependable over the years, FM release after FM release.

As an alternative, we can also recommend tcmlogos, who are also a good resource for custom designs for other aspects of football manager. Their designs aren’t exact replicas of their real life counterparts because of licensing crackdowns, but they are pretty much as close as you can get.
How to install badge packs packs in football manager 2021
Once you’ve hunted down the badge pack you want, it’s time to install them to football manager 2021. Don’t worry about getting it wrong, all you have to really do is move a couple of files around. If you downloaded a badge pack to use in football manager 2020, you can actually just copy and paste those old files. If not, read on.
Most badge packs will usually come as ZIP files, so make sure you decompress/unzip the pack before you do anything else. Just right click on the folder and then you should see the option to extract the contents.
Drag and drop/copy and paste your unzipped pack into documents > sports interactive > football manager 2021.
With that done, enter the football manager 2021 folder and then create a new folder called graphics. Simply drag and drop or copy and paste your face pack into the new graphics folder to complete this step.
Next, you have to go into football manager 2021 itself.
Either from the main menu or in a save, go to preferences > advanced > interface > skin and then tick off use caching to decrease page loading times while making sure reload skin when confirming changes in preferences is ticked. Finish off by hitting confirm or reload skin at the bottom and then the screen should take a moment to load all of the real player faces.

DHS launches “be your REAL ID self” public awareness campaign
WASHINGTON, D.C. – the department of homeland security (DHS) has begun a new nationwide public awareness campaign, “be your REAL ID self” to promote awareness of the REAL ID requirements and encourage the public to act before the october 1, 2021 full enforcement deadline.
Just over 8 months remain until the october 1, 2021 REAL ID full enforcement deadline goes into effect at all federally regulated airports, federal facilities, and nuclear power plants.
The department continues to urge americans to obtain a REAL ID-compliant card or acceptable alternative, such as a U.S. Passport or passport card prior to the october 1, 2021 enforcement deadline.
Passed by congress in 2005 following a 9/11 commission recommendation, the REAL ID act establishes minimum security standards for state-issued driver’s licenses and identification cards and prohibits federal agencies, like the transportation security administration, from accepting licenses and identification cards for official purposes from states that do not meet these standards.
Security standards include incorporating anti-counterfeiting document security features into licenses and identification cards, preventing insider fraud in the production of those licenses and cards, ensuring security of production facilities, and requiring presentation and verification of information to ensure a person is who he or she claims to be. It also prohibits federal agencies from accepting non-compliant licenses and identification cards for accessing federal facilities, entering nuclear power plants, and boarding federally regulated commercial aircraft. These standards have significantly improved the reliability and accuracy of state-issued driver’s licenses and identification cards across the country.
To avoid confusion regarding the REAL ID act requirements and enforcement milestones, residents can use the following guidelines to be fully informed and prepared.
- Check your state-issued driver’s license or identification card for the star. REAL ID-compliant cards have a star marking in the upper left- or right-hand corner. Most acceptable alternatives, such as state-issued enhanced driver’s licenses (edls), which are available in five states and can be used for entering the U.S. At land and sea border crossings, do not have the star, but are acceptable for official REAL ID purposes. For more information on edls, please go to www.Dhs.Gov/enhanced-drivers-licenses-what-are-they.
- Bring identity documents to the airport that are acceptable for flying domestically. Check to see if you have the proper identification to fly at tsa.Gov/travel/security-screening/identification. TSA’s website has a list of acceptable forms of identification that individuals may use to verify their identity at the screening checkpoint. If you need to obtain a new form of ID, please allow enough processing time before you travel. For example, the current processing times for U.S. Passports are approximately 10-12 weeks for routine service and 4-6 weeks for expedited service.
